The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
AlifLaamMeem. 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 Who believe in [the existence of] that which is beyond the reach of human perception, and are constant in prayer, and spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance; 3 who believe in what has been sent down to thee and what has been sent down before thee, and have faith in the Hereafter; 4 These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. 5 BEHOLD, as for those who are bent on denying the truth - it is all one to them whether thou warnest them or dost not warn them: they will not believe. 6 God has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a covering, and there awaits them a mighty chastisement. 7
