The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 Who believe in the Unseen, and establish prayer, and out of that wherewith We have provided them expend. 3 And who believe in this (Qur’an) which has been sent down upon you, O beloved Prophet, (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) and what was sent down before you; and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 These are guided by their Lord; these surely are the prosperous. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 God has sealed their hearts and their ears, and over their eyes there is a covering. They will have a terrible punishment. 7
