The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 There is no doubt that this book is a guide for the pious; 2 Who believe in the unseen and establish the (daily) prayer; who spend out of what We have provided them. 3 And who believe in that which hath been sent down unto thee and that which hath been sent down before thee and of the Hereafter they are convinced. 4 They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. 5 Verily those who have disbelieved, it is equal to them whether thou warnest them or warnest them not; they will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and their ears, and over their eyes there is a covering. They will have a terrible punishment. 7
