The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil). 2 the pious who believe in the unseen, attend to prayer, give in charity part of what We have granted them; 3 Who believe in that which has been sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad) and what has been sent down before you (to Prophets Jesus and Moses) and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 God has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a covering, and there awaits them a mighty chastisement. 7
