The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 This is the Book; there is no doubt in it. It is a guide for those who are mindful of God, 2 Who believe in [the existence of] that which is beyond the reach of human perception, and are constant in prayer, and spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance; 3 And who believe in that which hath been sent down unto thee and that which hath been sent down before thee and of the Hereafter they are convinced. 4 they are the people who are rightly following their Lord and it is they who shall be successful. 5 As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe. 6 God has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a covering, and there awaits them a mighty chastisement. 7

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
توجد تمارين تحفيظ للوضعين العربي الأصلي والعربي المخطوط بأحرف إنجليزية فقط. ولا تحتوي الترجمة الإنجليزية على تمارين حفظ.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
