(Muhammad), do not think that God is unaware of what the unjust people do. He only gives them a respite until the day when the eyes will stare fixedly, 42 Hastening forward, their heads upraised, their eyes not reverting to them and their hearts vacant. 43 And warn mankind of the day when the chastisement comes on them, And those who did evil shall say, 'Our Lord, defer us to a near term, and we will answer Thy call, and follow the Messengers.' 'Ah, but did you not swear aforetime there should be no removing for you? 44 And you dwelt in the dwelling-places of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how We did with them, and how We struck similitudes for you. 45 Mighty indeed were the plots which they made, but their plots were (well) within the sight of Allah, even though they were such as to shake the hills! 46 So never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution. 47 (Do warn them of the) Day when the heavens and the earth shall be altogether changed; when all will appear fully exposed before Allah, the One, the Irresistible! 48 And thou shalt see the sinners that day coupled in fetters, 49 of pitch their shirts, their faces enveloped by the Fire, 50 So that Allah will recompense every soul for what it earned. Indeed, Allah is swift in account. 51 This is a message for mankind. Let them take warning from it and know that He is but one God. Let those possessed of understanding may take heed. 52
