Deem not that Allah is unaware of what the wicked do. He but giveth them a respite till a day when eyes will stare (in terror), 42 Hastening forward, their heads upraised, their eyes not reverting to them and their hearts vacant. 43 And warn thou mankind of the Day whereon the torment will come unto them; then those who have done wrong shall say: our Lord! defer us to a term near at hand we will answer Thy call and we will follow the apostles. Were ye not wont to swear afore that for you there was to be no decline? 44 You said so even though you had lived in the dwellings of those who had wronged themselves (by sinning), and you were aware how We dealt with them, and We had even explained to you all this by giving examples. 45 They hatched their plots; but these plots were all within God's knowledge. Though their plots were such as to shake the mountains, God will bring their plots to nothing. 46 So deem not thou that Allah is going to fail His promise to His apostles; verily Allah is Mighty, Lord of vengeance 47 The day when the earth will he replaced by some other than the earth, as will be the skies, and every one will appear before God the one and omnipotent, 48 On that Day, you shall see the sinners coupled together in fetters; 49 Of molten pitch shall be their garments, their faces covered with flames, 50 So that Allah will recompense every soul for what it earned. Indeed, Allah is swift in account. 51 This [Qur'an] is notification for the people that they may be warned thereby and that they may know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded. 52
