The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Ra. Those are the signs of the Book and of a manifest Koran. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them). 3 Whenever We destroyed a town, a definite term had previously been decreed for it. 4 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 5 And they say: O thou unto whom the Reminder is revealed, lo! thou art indeed a madman! 6 Why do you not bring down the angels if what you say is true". 7 We do not send the angels but with truth, and then they would not be respited. 8 We Ourselves have revealed the Quran and We are its Protectors. 9 (O Muhammad), certainly We did send Messengers before you among the nations which have gone by. 10 And never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him. 11 Even so do We [now] cause this [scorn of Our message] to pervade the hearts of those who are lost in sin, 12 They will not believe in it, though they have before them the example of former peoples, 13 And if We open for them a gate in the heavens, to ascend it through the day – 14 They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched." 15
