The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Ra; these are verses of the Book and the bright Qur’an. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Let them eat and enjoy life, and let (false) hope beguile them. They will come to know! 3 And every dwelling that We destroyed, had a known decree for it. 4 No people can hasten or delay the term already fixed for them. 5 And they say: O you to whom the Reminder has been revealed! you are most surely insane: 6 Why dost thou not bring the angels unto us, if thou speakest truly?' 7 We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have! 8 It is We who sent down the Koran, and We watch over it. 9 Indeed, We sent Messengers before thee, among the factions of the ancients, 10 But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him. 11 This is how We make the mocking* enter the hearts of the guilty. (* The acts of disbelief.) 12 That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away. 13 And even if We open to them a gateway of heaven, so that they ascend into it all the while, 14 They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched." 15
