The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif Lam Ra. These are the verses of the Book and (of) a Quran that makes (things) clear. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them). 3 We never destroyed a village whose term had not already been decreed. 4 No community precedeth the term thereof nor doth it fall behind. 5 And they say: O thou unto whom the admonition hath been sent down! verily thou art possessed. 6 If you are a man of truth, why can't you bring the angels to us?" 7 We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated. 8 Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian. 9 And assuredly We have sent apostles before thee among the sects of the ancients. 10 but there was never a messenger who came to them but they mocked him: 11 Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals. 12 they believe not in it, though the wont of the ancients is already gone. 13 And even if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto, 14 yet would they say, 'Our eyes have been dazzled; nay, we are a people bewitched!' 15
