The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra'. These are the verses of the Book, and a Clear Qur'an. 1 Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims. 2 Let them eat and enjoy life, and let (false) hope beguile them. They will come to know! 3 And every dwelling that We destroyed, had a known decree for it. 4 No people can outstrip the term for its destruction nor can it delay it. 5 They say: 'You to whom the Remembrance is sent down, you are indeed mad. 6 “Why do you not bring angels to us, if you are truthful?” 7 We do not send down angels except for a genuine purpose, at which time none will be given any further respite. 8 Verily We! it is We who have revealed the admonition, and verily We are the guardians thereof. 9 Indeed, We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW) amongst the sects (communities) of old. 10 And never came a Messenger to them but they did mock him. 11 This is how We cause the hearts of the guilty ones to behave. 12 That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away. 13 If We opened a gate in the heaven and they kept ascending through it, 14 They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery." 15
