We have placed the signs of the Zodiac in the sky, and decked it out for those who can see; 16 We have protected them from every condemned devil, 17 so that anyone who seeks to learn [the unknowable] by stealth is pursued by a flame clear to see. 18 And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing. 19 And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers. 20 Of all things there are We have the stores, and send them down in determined measure. 21 And We send the winds fertilizing, then send down water from the cloud so We give it to you to drink of, nor is it you who store it up. 22 And indeed it is We Who give life and it is We Who cause death, and We are the Inheritors. 23 And certainly We know those of you who have gone before and We certainly know those who shall come later. 24 Indeed your Lord will gather them all together. Surely He is All-Wise, All-Knowing. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
