We have placed the signs of the Zodiac in the sky, and decked it out for those who can see; 16 and We have guarded it from every accursed devil: 17 Except for he who steals the listening and is then pursued by a visible flame. 18 And the earth-- We have spread it forth and made in it firm mountains and caused to grow in it of every suitable thing. 19 and there appointed for you is a livelihood, and for those you do not provide. 20 For, no single thing exists that does not have its source with Us; and nought do We bestow from on high unless it be in accordance with a measure well-defined. 21 And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers. 22 And verily We! it is We who give life and death, and We shall be the survivors. 23 And assuredly We know those of you who have gone before and those who will come hereafter. 24 Lo! thy Lord will gather them together. Lo! He is Wise, Aware. 25
