We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 and for all such, behold, hell is the promised goal. 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
