And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
