Surely We created man of a clay of mud moulded, 26 and the jinn before (the human being) of smokeless fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. 44
