Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
