We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 Said he, 'My Lord, for Thy perverting me I shall deck all fair to them in the earth, and I shall pervert them, all together, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44
