AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;" 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 until the day of a known time." 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
