Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 till the appointed time. 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
