AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44
