And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 He said: 'My Lord, reprieve me till the Day they are raised' 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
