Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 He answered, “It does not befit me to prostrate myself to a human whom You have created from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 Said Allah, “This path* leads straight towards Me.” (* The path of the chosen bondmen.) 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44
