We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And lo! Thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create mortal man out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted; 28 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him in prostration! 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 He said: 'My Lord, reprieve me till the Day they are raised' 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." 42 For whom the ordained place is surely Hell, 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44
