Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him in prostration! 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 Except Iblis (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 and the curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgement!" 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 for an appointed time." 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
