We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 Said he, 'I would never bow myself before a mortal whom Thou hast created of a clay of mud moulded.' 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 Said he, 'My Lord, for Thy perverting me I shall deck all fair to them in the earth, and I shall pervert them, all together, 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
