We have brought you the glad news of (the birth) of a learned son". 53 Abraham asked, "Are you giving me the glad news of a son in my old age? What reason can you give for such glad news?" 54 They said: we bear tidings of a truth; be then thou not of the desponding. 55 He said, "No one despairs of the mercy of his Lord except those who are in error. 56 He said: What is your business then, O apostles? 57 "We have been sent," they said, "to (punish) a sinful people, 58 Except Lot's family, of whom we shall save all, 59 "Except his wife, of whom We have decreed that she shall be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed)." 60
