VERILY, those who are conscious of God [shall find themselves in the hereafter] amidst gardens and springs, 45 (Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security." 46 And We shall purge their breasts of all traces of rancour; and they shall be seated on couches facing one another as brothers. 47 There, no fatigue shall smite them, nor shall they ever be driven from it' 48 ۞ Inform My servants that I am the Forgiving, the Merciful, 49 And verily My torment! that is the torment afflictive 50 And tell them of Abraham's guests, 51 When they came to Abraham they said: "Peace be upon you!" He replied: "Indeed we feel afraid of you." 52 [The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy." 53 He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform?" 54 They (the angels) said: "We give you glad tidings in truth. So be not of the despairing ones." 55 "Who would despair of the mercy of his Lord," he answered, "but those who go astray." 56 And asked them: "What matter, O angels, brings you here?" 57 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals, 58 "(All) except the family of Lout (Lot). Them all we are surely going to save (from destruction). 59 "Except his wife, of whom We have decreed that she shall be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed)." 60
