Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains: 45 (And it is said unto them): Enter them in peace, secure. 46 And We will root out whatever of rancor is in their breasts-- (they shall be) as brethren, on raised couches, face to face. 47 There, no fatigue shall smite them, nor shall they ever be driven from it' 48 ۞ Inform My bondmen that undoubtedly, I surely am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 49 And that indeed the punishment of Mine is a painful punishment. 50 And inform them of the guests of Ibrahim: 51 When they came to Abraham they said: "Peace be upon you!" He replied: "Indeed we feel afraid of you." 52 They said, “Do not fear – we convey to you the glad tidings of a knowledgeable boy.” 53 Said he: "Do you give me this glad tiding despite the fact that old age has overtaken me? Of what [strange thing,] then, are you giving me a tiding!" 54 They replied: 'In truth we have given you glad tidings, do not be one of those who despair' 55 He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?" 56 He added: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 57 They replied: 'We are sent to sinful nation. 58 Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all 59 except his wife who is doomed to be left behind." 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
