And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
