And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
