Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
