And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
