And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
