And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 [Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me. 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
