So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
