So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
