And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
