And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Indeed in that are signs for those who discern. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
