And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 Fear God and do not shame me." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79
