And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79
