Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 and we are bringing thee the certainty [of its fulfilment]: for, behold, we are speaking the truth indeed. 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
