So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
