So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
