AND WHEN the messengers [of God] came to the house of Lot, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) they are indeed straying in their intoxication. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood [i.e. the people of Madyan (Midian) to whom Prophet Shu'aib was sent by Allah), were also Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.). 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
