So when the envoys came to the household of Lot, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
