When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they are indeed straying in their intoxication. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
