So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
