When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
