Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Indeed in that are signs for those who discern. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
